Happy Holidays my friends! Anyone overdose on turkey, cookies, eggnog, and Christmas movies? I don’t know about you, but after days of eating copious amounts of delicious holiday treats, all I crave is simple and healthy food.
My favourite afternoon snack is just that – yogurt, cottage cheese, and applesauce, all mixed together to become a delicious looking mess and topped with cinnamon, dried cranberries, and almonds. So quick, so easy, so satisfying, it is the perfect afternoon bowl to hold you over until dinner.
The toppings and add-ins are totally customizable to your own taste. Try raisins, dried apricots, dates, or figs and throw in some toasted pumpkin seeds, walnuts, or pecans for that crunch. If you like it a bit sweeter, add a squirt of honey or maple syrup. Or change up the plain yogurt for vanilla or strawberry. It’s perfect for using up the last bit of whatever containers are floating around in your fridge.
This is hardly a recipe and there is absolutely, one hundred percent no need to be exact with the measurements. But nevertheless, here are some guidelines. Mix up this combo today as you gear up to get back to work…hopefully it will help beat the post-holiday blues!

Yogurt, Cottage Cheese, and Applesauce Bowl
Serves | 1 |
Prep time | 5 minutes |
Meal type | Snack |
Ingredients
- 1/4-1/2 cup Greek yogurt (or any yogurt you like)
- 1/4-1/2 cup cottage cheese
- 1/8-1/4 cup applesauce (unsweetened)
- 1-2 Tbsp dried cranberries
- 1-2 Tbsp almonds
- 1 Tsp cinnamon
Note
You can really add as much or as little of each ingredient as you like. Just add equal parts yogurt and cottage cheese and about half as much applesauce. And as many toppings/add-ins as you like. I like plain Greek yogurt but if you like it a bit sweeter, try vanilla.
