Sometimes you just need a quickie.
Uh..meal. A quickie meal.
Doesn’t get much quicker than this.
If you’ve got a can of tuna, some sort of bread product and a small chunk of cheese you can scrounge together any variety of flavourful add-ons to make a nice little sammer.
This is a simple combo with a good balance of flavours, but I admit, I rarely make a tuna melt the same way twice. It’s a no-recipe type of meal.
You can go mayo free if that’s your thing (it most definitely isn’t mine) and substitute with a little olive oil or a few slices of creamy avocado.
You can add crunchy bits like dill pickles or celery or bell peppers.
Try capers or hot peppers or flavoured vinegars for zip.
Add some herbs for freshness.
Experiment with a variety of cheeses.
