I’m a cold cereal eater for breakfast mostly.
Though I will stray and eat warm quinoa porridge or soul-satifying steel cut oats from time to time in the winter. And in the warm weather… Ahem. Excuse me warm weather – where the
f..heck are you?! I have had enough. Just, enough.
right, yes….and in warm weather, Smoothies!
I’m hoping a switch to smoothies for a few days will conjure a warm breeze or two.
This is my smoothie stuff. The only item here that I don’t ordinarily have kicking around is the coconut dream. My good friend Jammers turned me on to it’s non-dairy goodness and it’s a perfect substitute for my fellow lactose-intolerant smoothie lovers and or my vegetarian/vegan friends out there. Do keep in mind that it’s not a great source of protein though – if you’re using it in a smoothie, adding a little nut butter will help.
While I’ve pictured a nice ripe banana above, I generally use frozen bananas for my smoothies. Frozen ones are just really ugly and look like something else entirely when photographed. 😮
My smoothie maker container: big enough to make two servings and it comes with an airtight lid so I can keep my leftovers for a snack or another breakfast. From the bottom, Blueberry Crisp, Sweet and Tart Fruit and Yogurt, and Coconut Choco-PB.
