The heat has officially arrived folks.
And with it comes my cravings for all things cool and refreshing.
I will not say no to a jumbo Mr. Freeze on a July scorcher. Especially a white one.
The ice and sugar combo does make for a delicious cold treat. Perhaps not a ‘healthy’ one though.
In our simplest recipe yet, equal parts fruit and yogurt combine to make a refreshing and healthy frozen option in less than 5 minutes (minus freezing time of course). Just don’t tell your kids about the healthy part.
Keep it simple and use your favourite vanilla yogurt and a single fruit, or use plain yogurt, your favourite sweetener and a variety of fresh or frozen fruit.
If you don’t have a popsicle mould (which I purchased for $3 at my supermarket), paper cups with popsicle sticks work perfectly well. You’ll just have to wait for the pops to partially freeze before inserting the popsicle sticks.
To you, Mother Nature I say – bring on the heat.

I love this idea! I think I’ll give it a try. The key might be to keeping the fact that there’s real fruit in them a secret. 🙂
